A farmer’s decisions are based on the information they gather from combines, planters, and other field equipment with sensors. It is safe to say that with high-quality data comes equally high-quality yields. Better still, managing crop insurance becomes a more seamless experience with precision data, allowing agricultural producers to rest easy, knowing their investments and livelihoods are safeguarded. Nobody understands this complementary relationship between insurance and data as perfectly as the people of Agri- Risk Solutions (ARS), a holistic crop insurance agency.
Established in 2006 by Shelly Pfisterer and her twin sister, Jeana Harms, ARS delivers the most comprehensive risk management solutions, ingrained with the values of character and integrity. Most importantly, as a family-owned enterprise, ARS places great emphasis on the people side of the business; customer service is the number one priority. They supply each client with all their crop insurance needs at a granular level and recognize that obtaining accurate data is the biggest challenge for many in the industry. Improving a farmer’s ability to observe and leverage precision data was in order, and ARS took the responsibility in stride.
Our solutions take the guessing game out of what costs a client should cover. Collecting good data, for us, goes far beyond just offering crop insurance policies and managing risks
The company maintains strong partnerships with leading approved insurance providers (AIP) and producers across the nation—a combination of experience that makes ARS a reliable bridge between the two worlds. The fact that Harms has been a proactive player in crop insurance since 1998 further empowers ARS with the insights and expertise required to maximize protection for each client. The two sisters worked together, trying new approaches with various companies over the years, gaining an incredible wealth of knowledge in the process. Staying the course, they earned a partnership with Farmers Mutual Hail, which equipped ARS with its Precision Crop Insurance Solutions. The customer-centric firm went on to outperform itself, supporting farmers to collect accurate data across multiple platforms with ease.
Drawing attention to its precision technology competencies, ARS truly is in a league of its own. Its solutions are designed to gather and manage quality data to help clients make informed decisions regarding their agricultural operations. Historical data, too, plays a huge role in better understanding the best coverage options for each producer’s unique needs.
“Our solutions take the guessing game out of what costs a client should cover. Collecting good data, for us, goes far beyond just offering crop insurance policies and managing risks,” says Pfisterer.
To best showcase ARS’s precision data capabilities, the following instance of a recent collaboration between the company and a new producer in 2021 is apt. The client had installed a precision planting platform that failed to communicate effectively and caused problems during everyday operations. The producer could not plant, which directly affected their income. ARS addressed this problem via its resident precision technology expert, Chris Stillahn, who visited the client on their farm to identify and rectify the issue. Stillahn helped source the part required to fix the planter and— as is customary of ARS in going the extra mile—remained active on the field until midnight to ensure the device created no more issues.
With such robust solutions to offer in the precision farming landscape, ARS promises affordable and time-saving insurance products to all producers in the region. A farmer’s crops are his bread and butter. ARS understands this, and simply believes in never failing in its customer service.
